Good place for walking, cycling and boating! Far from crowd! There’s a indoor activity center. You can also rent kayaks, canoes, snow boots, fishing rod etc.

Best place to walk or have a bike ride. Good for Fall photography. If you plan to stay here for long time bring food.

I have always loved to visit this place to get close to nature.....good for biking, hiking.....the park has ponds, and is buzzing with life.

Overall nice park with a good network of trails throughout. A few little ponds are found about on the reclaimed landfill, and although they advertise fishing, it’s quite rubbish as I have never caught anything more than a small sunfish as an experienced angler. It is not a bad place to go long boarding, although you need to have your balance just right or else you may crash because of all the branches and twigs everywhere and then at night with the frogs and toads everywhere, it’s a bloody minefield. The ponds will always freeze, but in a snowy year, don’t expect to do any activity such as hockey or skating, because they aren’t shoveled and Brookings is not a hockey town by any stretch, so unlike Minnesota the snow will stay on all of them all year around.

It is suggested, you can keep a few for the kids though.
Haven't fished for walleye. Caught a few smallmouth and bluegill. Bluegill are an invasive species and very abundant. Have heard there are walleye but haven't heard of any big catches coming out of there.
I'm taking my grandsons, ages 7 & 9. Do I have to have a fishing license?
