Wickham Park

Is a beautiful park I didn't even know existed. They have a small aviary on the far left side of the main entrance, and manicured gardens, picnic areas and many more things. Parking is $7 during the week and $9 per car on the weekends. Totally worth it!!!

Beautiful park had a cookout there on Memorial day.. I wish they had better park benches, the two we had was lopsided. Other than that the scenery is beautiful the park is well maintained. Great place if you want to work out. The trails are all marked so it makes it very easy to get back and you won't get lost. They also have a little child Zoo with different types of species of birds. They also have different types of gardens, beautiful setting for weddings.

This is one park you really have to visit. It has a $7 car fee to get in but you will have such a wonderful day it will all be worth it. There are several sections of the park with different country themes. Each section is pleasantly decorated with gorgeous plantings and statues and benches where you can sit and take it all in. There is a small zoo type area with various small birds and peacocks on display and a snack bar. It will take a couple hours to walk through the whole experience and take time to sit on the many rolling hills and enjoy the view of Hartford off in the distance. there are pavilions for rent for parties, some are covered with facilities, others are more like picnic areas. You will receive a brochure when you drive in that is your admission ticket and it has maps and instructions on renting. There are fast food restaurants near by when you exit the park.

Beautiful. I enjoyed a long Sunday walk through the park. There are separate gardens for different regions. One minute we were walking in an Irish garden, the next was a lotus pond. There is a nature center with facts about the Wickham family, insects, butterflies, and mammals. My daughter and her boyfriend have a "tradition" of getting ice cream after they visit a new area, there's an ice cream stand joining the nature center, which is right beside a playground! The Park is a beautiful backdrop for weddings.
