We went out yesterday for our first whale watching experience and Captain Troy and his crew on America did not let us down. The entire crew was so helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. This company is the only one that allows dogs on board. We visited San Diego from out of state so allowing the dogs was what sealed the deal for us. My videos are much better than the pictures, but Google won’t allow me to post the videos. We saw several blue whales and got to see them dive down and bring their tails above water. My side of the boat got to see a sun fish up close that just drifted by the boat. I didn’t personally see them, but others on the boat saw dolphins and sea lions. I’m still in awe that we were lucky enough to see so many blue whales. We were able to see this majestic endangered species in their own habitat and that’s just 🤩

The only sailing company I have been out with and the only sailing company I truly trust with my family to take us out on open ocean They are extremely professional very knowledgeable in every aspect did we see any whales Yess!!!! We saw A Blue whale Two!!! The Captain even gave us extra time on the water considering we were seeing A Endangered species the largest living animal animal on Earth I give them my highest recommendation they work with the military on keeping these animals safe That are so very precious to all of us they even called them to fly overs specialty for the cruise from the military and I could not have asked for a better day literally one of the most beautiful days of my life was with them on this cruise with my family

Booking was easy and surprisingly affordable for a multiple hour sail. The crew was excellent. I loved that we could freely move about the boat during the sail. Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales but saw two types of dolphins. Maybe we can go back one day.

Unbelievable. We so enjoyed our time with the crew and seeing the Rissos dolphins. Two big pods. Babies and some mating. Staff was so informative and shared so much about the sea life and the history and sites of San Diego. Watching them hoist the sails was exciting. Since we did not see whales we get a whole second outing for free.

They didn't stop on Coronado Island.

The peak season for gray whales in San Diego is from mid-December through April. Blue whales come to San Diego to feed during the summer months, June-September. We have also seen other types of whales including humpback, fin, orca, and pilot whales. For instance, we saw humpback whales during every whale watching trip in November! Every day is different on the water, which is why we provide whale watching trips all year long.
We have a whale watching guarantee, so if you don't see a whale, you can come back for free! During the 2017-2018 gray whale watching season, our success rate was 98%. In 2016-2017, our success rate was 100%. After being in the business for over 10 years, we have learned a thing or two.
The Yacht America is the most stable boat in San Diego. Since we are 141 ft long and 105 ft tall, we glide through the waves. In addition, we have 5,900 sq ft of sail which helps the boat feel more stable on the water. We are the only company in the world that offers a sea-sickness guarantee, so come out and have some fun!
