Big grassy field...small play structure. Bathrooms across the street at the beach. Free street parking which is ridiculous in the spring/summer. Cool place to watch military airplanes/helicopters landing. No dogs allowed although dog beach is across the street.

Yes you can
Ok - Sunset park is technically across the road from the Coronado Dog Beach area. These are 2 separate areas but very close to each other. Coronado Dog Beach runs up to the Naval area on the public side of the beach. Sunset park is the small grassy area where there is playing field across the road from Dog Beach also adjacent to the Naval entrance. Dog Beach is the best dog beach in Southern California IMO.
