Man, what a dump. We recently moved to the area and were looking for something similar to the YMCA, but this is like the great value version of it. The weight/cardio room is tiny and the exercise equipment is slammed against eachother. The locker room was absolutely filthy and super dated, it felt like an old high school locker room and not a $40/month gym.

I love this place! I recently got involved with the youth sports here and my daughter loves it. We pay $130 for a 2 month basketball session. The kids practice twice a week and have games every Friday. Which comes out to be around 12 face to face sessions a month at $65 a month. I really like the structure because the children are learning the fundamentals of sports and getting the experience. WE LOVE COACH RYAN FOR THE 7-8 BASKETBALL . whereas when I put my child in the YMCA mission valley we paid $90/month and she went every Saturday which came out to be 4 face to face sessions a month and the practice was disorganized and it structured.

I really like the KROC center. There's so much to do that it keeps my whole family occupied in most of their interests. They make a point of contributing to their community too. If there's something deficient in the neighborhood or region, they try to offer it. The only failing for us at the moment is that now two of my children have gotten into springboard diving; which is a wonderful sport and amazing to watch at the Olympics. But there isn't much opportunity to do this at the KROC so we've had to go elsewhere. I was amazed to find that there aren't any diving towers in all of San Diego county! The city's diving teams have to go to Tijuana or Mission Viejo to practice on the higher platforms needed for competition. Amazing. Except for this activity not offered the Kroc is wonderful.

I actually already posted for the KROC center ice rink, but it was meant for this specific review. I gave the KROC 4 out of 5, instead of 5 out of 5 because sometimes the competition pool is not accessible for swimming laps due to various activities, especially during the summer, and the KROC should do a little bit more of an efficient job in letting it's members know ahead of time. Utilize mainstream ways of notification, such as mass emailing and mass SMS text messaging. In addition, send out mailers to advise members as well. Not everyone is always going to read posters throughout a crowded and busy KROC center, where the main focus is usually to listen to our Pandora lists while working out. All in all, aside from the nominal adjustment mentioned, the KROC is a great place for families, with a ton of activities for everyone. Playcare is great for the kiddos and included with a couple different types of membership, which you can pay month to month, if you choose. The pricing is very fair based on what is offered and included for everyone. The gym is great with a lot of weights and equipment to choose from. There's basketball courts, fitness classes, an ice rink, and more. Enjoy!
