Stopped in Vinopolis to look at their selection of local wines. We had a great conversation with them about winemaking and wine tasting in the area. They gave some terrific advice and were full of information. We left with a couple of fairly-priced bottles, too.

Great wine selection! Looking at my receipt tho, I see I was charged $1.95 for the gift bag. I feel like if I'm spending $100 on one bottle of wine, a dollar ninty-five gift bag should be thrown in as a gesture of appreciation. I doubt I'll shop here again.

Vinopolis is, as far as I have found, the best wine shop in Portland! (With the caveat that it depends on what you’re looking for). From a pricing perspective this place cannot be beat. It has the absolutely best pricing on any wine compared with other local shops and grocers. The selection of French and Italian wines is absolutely superb. The sparkling wine selection borders on legendary (although it’s hard for any place, shops included to beat Pix when it comes to bubbles). Depending on the day you may get asked if you need help. Some days the employees may simply acknowledge you and go about their business. This may rub some people the wrong way but I love the unobtrusive nature of their approach. The point is that if you NEED help, the associates are super friendly and knowledgeable about wines, and willing to help. If you’re buying multiple bottles for entertainment or personal collection, or if you are looking for something really special, this is the place to go.
