Holy #@%$ing hell Roots is fantastic. Both the food and service are top notch. Everyone should go out of their way to have a meal here. Yesterday our server Trey went out if his way for us, was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. And the same goes for every person that we have dealt with over the years who work there. They are ALWAYS fantastic. Secondly the food is always fantastic, fresh and locally sourced. Every single thing on the menu is aggressively delicious. Speaking of which, you MUST get the Vermont fondue. That thing is so friggin delicious that you will want to flip the table and punch the wall. I cannot recommend Roots enough. It is worth every penny.

I go about every other week because the food here is so unique and amazing ! Pork Belly app is a must ! Chip is also an amazing bartender, made my mango margarita to perfection ! I have expanded my pallet so much from trying the cool dishes this restaurant comes up with. The turkey light fare was my lunch yesterday and wow ! The flatbread wrap is an amazing idea and worked perfectly with a turkey cranberry apple combo.

Food was amazing! We started with the beef soup each and it was warm, fragrant and hearty, with generous servings of ingredients (apart from the beef). Not too much sodium either. We got the poutine which was a hit amongst all of us at the table. Heaping servings of blue and goat cheeses with sprinkles of beef and mushroom. Even the poutine-hating Canadian in our group admitted that it was great! Maybe a bit more gravy would have made it perfect. I got the swordfish with mango salsa, which was on the seasonal menu. It was amazing, giving me decadent bites of flaky fish. The whole concept was reminiscent of a lighter, springtime flavor. The sauce on the side was good, too - no idea what it is though. The waiter claimed that the pork would fall apart easily. It did. The Johnny cakes were really good, vegetables were the right amount of sour and sweet. Everything went well together. Beef burger was okay, nothing special.

They are not open until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. It isn't required to make a reservation but it's looked pretty busy lately so you may want to, just to be sure you get a table
