We had a horrible experience at the Maize this year. It rained for more than one week and the corn maze was not ready for visiting at all. The farm didn’t take proper measures to ensure the safety of visitors including the kids. Instead, at the ticket booth, they were selling disposable shoe covers for $2 a pair and after 5min of walk they could barely stay on the feet. Along the way we saw distressed visitors with ruined shoes, discarded shoe covers and even socks. In the end we had to take off the shoes to cross the swamp. What is even more infuriating is when we were trying to clean up after we finally made the half way exit, one staff member came and tried to escort us with the excuse that the tent was not safe to stay in. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that they kept the business open while they were clearly aware of the safety hazard. Later we figured out that they were probably afraid other visitors who haven’t purchased tickets would see how terrible we look and cancel the tickets. And when we asked if there’s water around to clean up the feet, the staff member said No, with the reason “if we provide it to you, we will have to provide it to everyone else who needs it” The way they treat customers clearly shows their one-time business mindset “just give us the money and leave”. (That also explains why the maze looks the same as last year’s) If you’re looking for a corn maze and pumpkin patch for Halloween activity, Bella next door and Topaz farm (5 min away) are great places to go and they are mindful with the safety and wellness of their customers with a more sustainable approach of growing.

This place is a very nice family afternoon venue. Animals to see (not really pet though), hay ride to the pumpkin fields, the maze, the store and the cafe; all pretty good. Just being on Sauvie island on a nice sunny day is good. My tip, go to the pumpkin fields for the experience but just pick out a pumpkin at the store. The field ones are huge, many of them decomposing, and carrying them back is a hassle. They are sold by weight but the guy just looks at it and tells you how much he thinks it should cost. 🤔 Potential visitors be aware: the maze was so muddy; 75% of it! 6"deep mud in places. Not passable for little tikes or strollers or people who are at risk to slip and fall easily. It's been sunny for the last three days so I'm not sure what the maze will be like in the rain. Last year I took the kids on a rainy day and it wasnt very muddy. Anyway, plan ahead with rubber boots. To the owners: consider putting down a load of wood chips or something.

We went to get our pumpkin of the 2019 season and decided to go to The Pumpkin Patch and... this place is insane! SO big and full of life and plenty of things to do. The pumpkin selection is great and definitely loaded with variety even though I would say is not the best I have seen. The place is beautiful, and even though it was packed like the San Diego zoo on a Sunday morning, everything flowed extremely well; from parking to paying for our orange treasures to leaving! Sauvie Island is SUCH a nice area to drive around so you also get to enjoy a city and stress free sightseeing experience!

We are open to the public. We are following the Oregon State recommendations for social distancing. Asking people to wear a mask in lines, upon entering the MAiZE, and whenever a 6' distance from others not in your group can be obtained. Hand sanitizers located around the farm.
We stop selling tickets and help people get out of the MAiZE by 6pm
